Have a honey of a day!

SCS Limited Supply Challenge: Your challenge this week is to make a card in a summer activity theme. Use any embellishments you want. Extra bonus fun points if you use a tag on your card.

Bees are so cute on paper, but I will NOT be sad to see them leave IRL! Also IRL, the ribbon is lighter and the honey pots are a tidge darker.

Stamps: Just Buzzin' By & Aida Cloth BG (SU), bee (DRS Designs)
Paper: white, so saffron, barely banana

Not sure what happened here!

I'm not sure why, but I have such a hard time photographing shades of purple. I made a card the other night because I was tempting at buying more stamps. Ugh! I have a ton!! So, I'm starting to do one or two things: put the images on Wish RAK and/or go make a card with a stamp I haven't used in a very long time. Some of my stamps are so old and dusty that they are like new when I use them LOL!

Stamps: Live Your Dream, Warm Words, & Favorite Things (Stampin' Up)
Paper: white, almost amethyst, unknown DP
Ink: certainly celery, almost amethyst, lovely lilac markers
Accessories: SU circle & modern label punches, MS picket fence edge punch, Top Note die, organza ribbon, brads, pop-up dots
Wish RAK: Top Note dies, MS picket fence edge punch

Paper: white, rich razzleberry

Handmade Rainbow Sherbert DP

This week's Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast:

Do you ever find yourself wanting to create a design along a certain theme but don’t have stamps or product that really captures it? The great way to get around that without running off the store is to create your own image.

Well, I discovered what to do for the Ways to Use It challenge a couple of days late.

I absolutely loved the card that Holly (TOY) made today for the Inspiration challenge. I loved the colors and layout! I had to go back and look at it again after I commented. That's when I noticed it.... The Rainbow Sherbert DP! I hadn't expected it retire. And I didn't act fast enough and missed out. So, I made my own... at least of this pattern. What do you think?

Here's Holly's adorable card.

*I used handmade paper instead of DP.
*I used a different sentiment, CD ef and ribbon.
*I used Stickles instead of pearls.
*I changed the orange candy dots to photo corner punches (to hide a boo-boo!)
*I used 2 butterflies.
Same colors and layout!!!!

Stamps: Best Wishes (Inkadinkdo), Little Pieces (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: white, gable green, tempting turquoise, only orange, Green galore
Ink: green galore, gable green, tempting turquoise, only orange
Accessories: ribbon, Stickles (diamond & orange peel), Martha Stewart butterfly punch, photo corner punches (Wish RAK), CB Swiss Dots (WishRAK)

VSN - A Cupcake for Your Birthday

Virtual Stamp Night - May 16
Challenge F

"Most people think lights, gambling, shows, fancy hotels, food, and shopping when they think of Vegas. Me? I think CSI! The original, the best, and my favorite TV show!

The amazing CSI team in Vegas *always* gets the bad guy...even if it's a season or two later, and even if the bad guy has *tried* to trick them. How do you try trick the CSI team? By FRAMING someone else, of course!

So... My challenge to you is to create a card (or project) using a FRAME.

You could stamp on the inside of your card and use dies or punches to create the frame on the front, you could add a frame embellishment, you could alter an actual frame for an inspiration quote...the possibilities are only as limited as your imagination (and those criminals can be pretty imaginative, so try to keep up!)"

Stamps: Oh, So Sweet (Wish RAK), It's Your Birthday
Paper: chocolate chip, real red, real red DSP, DCWV retro prints mat stack
Accessories: kraft taffeta ribbon, circle & scallop punches
Technique: window card

VSN - Birthdays are the Best

VSN - Friday Night

Virtual Stamp Night - May 15
Challenge C

"When I first saw that the theme was going to be Vegas inspired it made me think of the tables. The card table, the roulette...well you get the idea. What do they all have in common the colors red and black baby!! The suits of the cards (red and black), the roulette wheel setup (red and black), are you starting to see a trend here?

Here is my challenge should you choose to accept:
Use red and black to make your project with the neutral being white. No other colors allowed...sorry them's the rules here in Vegas doll."

Stamps: Gina K - Langley Boy Designs - Gettin' Buggy with It
Colors: red, white, black
Accessories: circle punches, Martha Stewart ladybug punch, ribbon, black marker

I turned the Fall To Layout #41 found here.

Virtual Stamp Night - May 15
Challenge D

"When I hear “Viva Las VSN (Vegas)” … I think back to my childhood. ..… when my mother worked as a waitress there, she’d come home every once in a while and tell us how she saw Elvis eating with a whole bunch of his ‘buddies’ and occasionally even waited on his entourage.

So, thinking of Elvis … I tried to think slightly outside the box and kept coming back to his favorite snack:
Fried Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches” Yummo!

So … I wanted to go for a color challenge … Here’s the “rules” – use them loosely if you don’t have the specific supplies, but give it a whirl …

1. Colors:
a. Banana (or Saffron)
b. Creamy Caramel (peanut butter)
c. Close to Cocoa (for the ‘fried’ part)
2. You must use something MUSICAL:
a. Can be background paper
b. Can be musical instrument or note as the focal point
c. Can be an image of singing

Have FUN with it!"

Stamps: Mini Mates
Paper & Ink: close to cocoa, creamy caramel, so saffron, white
Accessories: ribbon, ticket corner punch, close to cocoa marker

The sentiment is hand written. This card measures 3x3.
