The 4 Stages of Christmas

This is my 3rd SCS Inspiration Challenge Card.... and I have so many more I'd like to make if there was an extra day in the weekend.

SCS Inspiration challenge #207
Etsy store "aimoobaroo" - Famous for their fabric buttons Here's my inspiration. I chose a set of adorable buttons that had mostly polka-dotted fabric in a few different colors along with a few buttons with cherries. I changed the colors of the polka dots and used Santa Hats instead of cherries.

Stamps: Santa Hat (B022) & 4 Stages of Christmas (G129) (DRS Designs)
Paper: old olive, real red, white, unknown polka-dotted dp, SU real red dsp
Ink: black, SU old olive & real red smarker, Copic R27 cadmium red marker
Accessories: eyelet, ribbons

Christmas Fun

Oh my! This is definitely not CAS! This card took me over an hour to make! DH came into the room just as I was finishing editing my photo. He's used to me looking at cards and he said, "Wow! That card is wonderful!" I didn't realize what he was thinking. I said, "It's much better in real life." And I picked it up to show him. He said, "You made that card?!? Wow, honey! That's great!" He's always supportive, but it still made me feel good. :)
(More info below)

SCS Inspiration Challenge: Etsy store "aimoobaroo" - Famous for their fabric buttons Here's my inspiration. I started with the idea of circles and dp mixed with images, but some how it came to this! Later on, I found these buttons which go with my images a little better.

I used the popcorn images because I could imagine the garland on the tree as strings of popcorn.

Stamps: DRS Designs - Candy Cane Christmas Critter, Cutie Pie Letters to Santa, Santa Hat, Cutie Pie Christmas Helpers, Gift Background, Popcorn Background, Reindeer Ralph, Small Merry Christmas
Paper: white, real red, green galore
Ink: sahara sand (for the gift BG), SU real red (for the candy canes), Copic markers: YG67 moss, YG23 new leaf, Y08 acid yellow, W2 warm gray, R20 blush, RV34 dark pink, R27 cadmium red, Y21 buttercup yellow, E51 milky white, E31 brick beige, E13 light suntan, E33 sand, E27 Africano, B23 phthalo blue, B29 ultramarine, V17 amethyst
Accessories: ribbon, Diamond Stickles, square punch, dimensionals, gold, red, & black brads

A Thoughtful 12 yr. Old

I made this card last June. Since I make a ton of cards, I have plenty on hand. Well, yesterday, one of my adorable students asked me if I had any "Get well" cards. I told him that I had some at home. He proceeded to tell me he would like one because his mom had surgery on her foot. Isn't that so sweet?!? AND he's in middle school! I took a few cards to school, today, so he could choose the one he wanted. : )

The layout for this card was SCS sketch #234.

Stamps: Canine Capers (Stampin' Up! - Wish RAK), Tag Lines (Gina K Designs)
Paper: real red, bashful blue, bashful blue DSP, white, so saffron, gable green, ballet blue
Ink: black, real red
Accessories: Copic markers, SU real red marker, ribbon, Marvy & EK Success punches, liquid applique

A Blinged Christmas Tent Topper

I have another tent topper card to share with you. This one is different. First, I rarely use a greeting as a main image. And even more rarely do I use this much bling. I used one rhinestone brad and 3 rhinestone stickers. I worked 13 hours today and I'm exhausted. And because I'm exhausted, I didn't plan anything! I just sat at my desk and started. Who does that? Not me!!!

Anyway, I hope you're as pleased with the outcome as I am. Maybe I should use bling more often!

I used a Marvy Mega scallop punch for the Yesteryear Christmas Greeting (G130). I sponged the edges with old olive ink and added a dotted line under "Christmas" with a fine tip red marker. I stamped the new Holly Giga Circle (L120) with old olive ink and used the Marvy Giga scallop punch. I used a red fine tip marker to fill in the holes for the berries and mounted the greeting on the Giga scallop. After adding 3 rhinestone stickers, it was partially taped onto a 4.25 square card and when finished, it fits nicely into a standard A2 envelope.

The top old olive layer is stamped in old olive with the Gift Background (H1140). The designer paper (unknown source) is added with red ribbon and a rhinestone brad to secure the ribbon. The brad and ribbon warped the card a bit, so I used a bit of red sticky tape to adhere the top old olive layer to the red layer. And to finish the card, I popped up the layers with dimensionals on an old olive card base.

You can find all three of these stamps on this DRS Designs page.

Purrr -fectly Cute Christmas Kitty

I'm a cat lover, so I instantly fell in love with this new stamp from DRS Designs. Both of my cats perch themselves up on everything, but my kitty wouldn't be sitting on this present, she'd be tearing it open!

Here's one of three featured stamper cards that I made! I love Dawn's gallery and couldn't choose just one.

SCS Featured Stamper 145: TreasureOiler

*I used a similar layout & colors.
*I changed the image & theme.

Here's Dawn's adorable card.

Stamps: DRS Designs
Paper: white, real red, regal rose, green galore, unknown dp
Ink: black, SU markers: green galore, real red, Copic markers: W-2 warm gray, R29 lipstick red, R85 rose red

We have a winner from the CPC-Unity Blog Hop!

The Christian Paper Crafts & Unity Blog Hop was hopping along on Friday and all weekend long! I'm so glad that everyone had fun looking at our cards and projects. It looks like the "turkeys" in my family were pretty popular. LOL! The quote below in green was announced on Friday. There were 41 comments here on my blog hop post! Random.org chose #10! Congratulations Dani! You have won the Devoted set from Unity's new line of stamps ~ Ippity. Danni can go to Christian Paper Crafts (CPC) and use the "Contact Me" button to let Cindy know who your name & snail mail as well as whose blog you won the Devoted set from.

Read on to the end of this post to find some more news!

Now to the hop…..and prize announcements!! There’s 6 of us participating in the hop so that means 6 prizes and chances for you to win. There’s one catch – each blog hop stop must have at least 10 comments in order to open up the prize pool for that stop. CPC and Unity DT members are not eligible for any prizes, and our comments left will not count towards the original 10 comments. What are the prizes? I have 3
Simple Blessings stamp sets and 3 Devoted stamp sets from Unity's new {ippity} line. The comments will close at midnight Sunday and the winners will be announced on Monday morning on each individual blog.

I'm very excited to announce that rather than being a guest designer for Christian Paper Crafts for the month of November, I have been asked and I've accepted a more permanent position on the design team! I am so excited! CPC's Design Team is such a wonderful group of Christian ladies. If you would like to learn more about CPC, you can read about their Mission Statement here. And, if you're interested, you can read my bio and my testimony of faith on the CPC site here.

Another... Things that make you go Hmmm....

Edited: Thank you for letting me know it was from my computer. My DH taught me how to erase my "cookies" and that fixed the problem. Random thought... Who thought of the name "cookies" for this computer thingy? Shouldn't it be "crumbs" since all they do is get in the way?!?

Is it cookies? I don't know. But on my screen, I have several blank spots where photos should be, but when I click on the blank spot, the right photo appears. I found one incorrect photo, and when I click on it, the right photo appears. It's happened in my SCS gallery, too. So... what's your thought on this? Are you seeing blank areas on my blog, or is it my computer???

Celebrate in Style

This week's CAS challenge is an inspiration challenge: handbags & purses from Vera Bradley.

I had a hard time with this. I finally decided to try making one of the many purses from a punch that I've in the SCS gallery. I chose a multi-colored dp with a pattern small enough for the tiny size. (I love pink & brown.)

Stamps: sentiment from Gina K Designs
Paper: very vanilla, regal rose, chocolate chip, unknown dp
Ink: black, creamy caramel
Accessories: ribbon, paper piercer, brad, DIMENSIONALS, and lots of punches!
SU Punches: scallop edge, modern label, designer label, word window, circle
Marvy: Mega scallop circle

This card measures 5x5.

Dirty Dozen November Favorites

I've been extra busy as well as a few too many headaches & migraines. But soon there should be a lot less due to the minor surgery on my scalp. Yeah! (Harmless cysts removed that were hitting nerves... no biggy.) I'll get back into the groove of daily faves, this evening (I mean morning... yikes!) I'd like to list my faves from SCS's Dirty Dozen Gallery. It was fabulous this month and the 2 new DT members (1busymomof2 and mrupple) are great and I've linked cards of theirs here before! Just in case you're not a Fan Club member, I've also included some of the new DT members other work.

2 DRS cards - 2 Challenges

This first card showing the beauty of Christmas trees was made for the Clean & Simple challenge on SCS: use white and one other color. (Neutral count as another color.)

Stamps: Trees (L004), Greeting (F334)
Paper: white, handsome hunter
Ink: Handsome Hunter
Accessories: ribbon, Stickles, Martha Stewart edge punch

I'll let you in on a little secret... I should have used glitter. The Stickles soaked and warped the paper!!!

I started out this next card with the intention of following the sketch on 2Sketches4You. Well, it sort of resembles it. And I see the samples all look quite different. So I hope this is OK. To make myself feel better, I'll probably play again this week... with my brand new stamps that arrived in the mail while I was at work. : )

Stamps: Filigree Star (L1113), Medium Filigree Snowflake for the BG (H1123), greeting (B364)
Paper: white, black, pale plum
Ink: black, pale plum, black marker
Accessories: SU punches

DRS Designs is sponsoring the sketch this week. Everyone who enters will have a chance to win a $15 gift certificate!

Life is a bowl of strawberries...

SCS Featured Stamper: chrisations.ink
Congrats Christine! You are such a sweetheart. Enjoy your day!

* I used the same layout.
* I used a different fruit and used a scalloped circle with it rather than a square.
* I didn't use a scallop edge punch on my dp.
* I added a little more color and some ribbon.

Here's Christine's gorgeous CAS card.

Stamps: Unity's Berry Good Life which was available for pre-sale only last weekend. (Or was it the weekend before? It hurts to get old!!) It won't be available again until CHA. I'm sure glad I didn't miss that announcement! I love, love, love this set!

Paper: riding hood red, white, unkown dp
Ink: black, SU ruby red & regal rose markers, Copic markers: R29 lipstick red, YG67 moss, E43 dull ivory, E27 Africano, B60 pale blue gray (for highlighting)
Accessories: Marvy Giga scalloped circle punch, black eyelet (to hold the ribbon), Ribbon: SU regal rose, SU wild wasabi, and American Crafts striped ribbon
