Popcorn background (H1124)
Poppin' Holiday Greeting (F032)

Paper: white, barely banana, black, bashful blue (heavily sponged with the same color)

The First Friday Friends with Flair!

It was strange thinking there wasn't a Hip Hop today, but I was back to work so I wasn't having to think about it all day. KWIM? I was happy to hear we have a customer blog hop going on similar to HHH. I wonder what the blinkie will look like?

I used my new August KTOM kit today. I was so excited to finally get it. I think everything is fixed for next month's shipping.

Stamps: Aug. '09 KTOM
Paper:white, bashful blue, regal rose, sU dsp, chocolate chip
Ink: Palette burnt umber, Copic markers (R83, B32, Y35? - maize), sponging with creamy caramel & bashfu blue
Accessories: brads, taffeta ribbon, SU Top Note die (Wish RAK)

SCS has been having a little more troubles than usual for server updates. If you missed my September KTOM color challenge card, you can see it here if you'd like.

This wonderful site was designed and started by Cindy Coutts. You can see her blog here.

Our CPC Fun on Friday challenge for today is to make 3x3 cards. I love using these sized cards for sending with small gifts such as hostess gifts when being invited to a friend's home for dinner.

I look forward to seeing your creations!

When uploading your project to our gallery, please use keyword FOF21. When uploading your project to your blog or other online galleries, please use keyword CPC-FOF21.

There's no time limit to play along. Just have fun! Have a very blessed day!

Another CAS Makeover

This first Great Pumpkin card was made a couple of year's ago for a sketch challenge. I decided to makeover this card and make it CAS.

The 1st Great Pumpkin: The is card uses SCS sketch #121

Stamps: Carved & Candlelit, True Friends, $1 stamps
Colors: pumpkin pie, close to cocoa, chocolate chip, white
Accessories: ribbon, cutter kit, marker
Techniques: distressing

I've been debating on whether I will get Stampin' Up's new pumpkin set being released on Tuesday. I love how it fits the punches. But I discovered that I can do the same with this old retired set from SU: Carved & Candlelit. The bottom oval is popped up on dimensionals.

Stamps:Carved & Candlelit (SU), grass (DRS Designs)
Paper: white, pumpkin pie, black
Ink: pumpkin pie, black, old olive, close to cocoa
Accessories: Martha Stewart bat, cat, & bow punches; Stampin' Up circle and large oval punches, paper piercer & template (SU mat stack), dimensionals

Can you tell I went back to work? I've been exhausted. I took a nap after work and now I'm up. And I don't even see kids until next week! LOL! Anyway, since I'm up, I'll post some of my faves that I found while skimming the gallery while half asleep the last couple of days.

USK01 - Color Challenge - You Inspire Me

SCS is very wacked out after their server change. I've seen lots of their server changes and have never seen anything THIS crazy! I wonder how many over-time hours are being made?

Anyway, I originally uploaded this card successfully last night and today it was gone. (And my sketch challenge card, too... but that's another story! LOL!) I can't get this Unity card uploaded again on SCS and it's for Unity's September KTOM challenge. So I'm going to try and link this post on the thread. It will be interesting to see if it works. LOL!

The challenge this month is to use the colors black, orange, purple and green using July or August KTOMs. This was hard! I usually use these colors for Halloween. I'v see some very creative cards in the gallery, today. Here's the recipe for my color challenge card:

Stamps: July KTOM '09 (Unity)
Paper: white, old olive, black, SU dsp
Ink: SU markers: black, pumpkin pie, old olive, rich razzleberry
Accessories: eyelets, gingham ribbon, SU Top Note die (Wish RAK), paper piercer & template (SU's mat stack)
Technique: faux stitching

Kreativ Blogger Award

Awww! How sweet of Cheryl to give me this award. What a nice compliment to come home to after a day of work (my first week back to school/work). Here is her creative blog: CherCroppin's Stamp Pad.

The rules for this award are
: thank and link back the person you received it from, name 7 things people might find interesting about you, and nominate 7 people for this award.

1. I have a new kitten that loves to help me on the computer. She's here now wanting to push buttons. I have discovered new things! LOL! Right now she's holding my thumb and giving love bites. :) Last night we both fell asleep in front of the computer on the recliner. Too bad DH couldn't find the camera.

2. I'm a special education teacher in a middle school. If you haven't guessed, middle school students and staff are a strange culture all their own. LOL! I'm super short and most of my students are taller than me. But they know who's boss!!!! :)

3. I'm the hostess of the CAS (Clean & Simple) challenge on Splitcaost Stampers. I used to be the Limited Supplies challenge hostess and I started the Featured Stamper challenge and handed it off to the talented myprecious. I've been a member since 2005 but had to change my identity in 2008 for personal reasons beyond my control. I used to be jen70.

4. I recently became part of a design team. My very first one! I am so excited! Their stamps are so cute! I love DRS Designs!!!

5. I have one son who is starting high school next week! Where has the time gone? I can't be old enough for that... can I??? Actually, I'll be hitting the big 4-0 next spring. My son is a miracle. He was born 16 weeks early and weighed 20 ounces. He spent 105 days in the hospital and came home 5 days before his due date weighing just 3 pounds and 12.5 ounces. He has multiple challenges, but he is the most amazing person!

6. October 19 is a bittersweet day for me. In the year 1995, my first son (above) came home from the hospital. We celebrate "Homecoming Day" every year. On October 19, 2000, I had another preemie weighing 1 pound. I named him Blake. He was stillborn and I have one photo of him. At the time I thought it was odd to take a photo, but now I'm so glad I did. I went home from the hospital that day and celebrated Homecoming Day for my eldest son. Each year we visit the cemetary and have a party.

7. I am remarried to the most wonderful, caring, and understanding man. I could go on and on about how special he is too our family. He's my best friend and a loving dad for my son.

Here are my 7 nominees, (in no particular order):

My Little Creative Escape - lisahenke

Simplicity
- LateBlossom

RyannMarin Designs - rsalamon

The Paper Landscaper - Peanutbee

Stamps & Taxes - juliemlacey

Scrapnextras - Scrapnextras

CAS Design Team Search -> Autumn 2009 DT is HERE!!

We have a new SCS Clean & Simple Design Team!

Each past DT member expressed how difficult it was to choose. Yes, I know you hear that a lot. But the longer the CAS challenges go on, the more people start playing along and the better everyone gets. It's good! And it's fun!

Keep playing along with the CAS challenges. Your turn will come!

Congratulations ladies! I'm looking forward to a fun season!

Have a Jolly Holiday

This adorable big head snowman stamp is available at DRS Designs starting tomorrow! I love snowmen!!! I love how big he is without being overwhelming for a standard A-2 card.

This first jolly snowman card was made for SUnday's Featured Stamper challenge on SCS.

Featured Stamper: akronstamperdpk
This is Darlene's beautiful card.

* I kept the same basic layout and most of the same colors.
* I used a different snowman image.
* I used a CB BG instead of dp.
* I used less layers and no piercing or ribbon. I added a sentiment, brads, punches, and a scalloped Nestie.

DRS Stamps: Large Snowman Head (to be released Sep. 2!), Have a Jolly Holiday sentiment (D480)
Paper: white, bashful blue, certainly celery, green galore
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU bashful blue marker, Copic markers (B32 pale blue, YR04 chrome orange, YG23 new leaf, R29 lipstick red, CO cool gray
Accessories: CB snowflake BG, Nestie scalloped rectangle, brads, Martha Stewart branch punch, dimensionals
Wish RAK: bashful blue CB snowflake BG, celery scallop rectangle

(This 2nd card was made for the Monday's SCS Clean & Simple Challenge: Make0ver)

It was a sad day because it's the last challenge of the summer and for our wonderful design team. Harriet, Ann, and Lisa have been awesome and such a great source of inspiration. I'm very grateful for their time and talent.

It also means that the submissions for the Autumn DT has closed. Our current and past design team members will select our new DT and I will break any ties if necessary. I can't wait to see who they will be. Have you seen all the stunning creations?!? The new DT members will be notified on Tuesday and an announcement will be made soon after that.

And one more thing this last day of the summer CAS challenges means... It's make-over day! Find one of your OWN cards you'd like to remake. Remember to make it CAS {wink}. You can choose a CAS cards that you just want to improve. OR you can find a heavily layered and embellished card to make CAS.

I personally have a ton of choices since I'm an equal opportunity stamper. :) I use stamps from many companies and I make CAS and embellished cards!!!

If you can, please link the original card in your comment box when uploading to public galleries. I chose to makeover the first DRS snowman card to make it more CAS.

DRS Stamps: Large Snowman Head (to be released Sep. 2!), Have a Jolly Holiday sentiment (D480)
Paper: pretty in pink, white
Ink: black, Copic markers (RV11 pink, RV29 crimson, Y38 honey, G24 willow, C0 cool gray)
Accessories: scalloped rectangle (Wish RAK), paper piercer, Ecstasy Crafts piercing/embossing template

Favorites: Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Lots of fun things to see in the gallery on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! Some of these ladies uploaded more than one card. If you have time, you may want to check out their galleries.

Please note: Sometimes, I am not able to notify everyone that has been linked because of time limitations. But I will continue to post my faves.

I've been crazy busy in addition to being glued to the TV for Senator Kennedy. I zipped through the gallery quickly. I was not able to make many comments, but I wanted to link cards that popped out at me while quickly, very quickly, cruising through the gallery.
