Daily Planner Clipboard

Getting Organized with Rubbernecker Stamps!

I don't know about you, but I make lots of lists in planners but don't open them up enough. So, I decided to try something else! The clipboard is pre-printed. I think I got them at Target, but I'm not positive. The daily planner is computer generated using Microsoft Word. stamping details and close-up photos are below.

I used Stampin' Up's new In-color pool party cardstock. I didn't glue it down, but the ribbon keeps it pretty much in place. I did this so it would be easy to change season to season or month by month, etc. I used pool party ink to stamp Rubbernecker's (496_03) - Wildflowers. On the GP white cardstock, I used SU cherry cobler and new In-Colors pool party & lucky limeade. The flower flourish (530_15) is gorgeous, isn't it? The tiny flowers and sprinkles are from the Create a Garden set 2 (513).

Recipe

Rubbernecker Stamps: Creat a Garden set 2 (513), flower flourish (530_15) and the leaves from the wildflowers section of the site (496_03)
Paper: GP white, SU pool party
Ink: SU cherry cobbler, pool party, lucky limeade
Accessories: SU ribbon burgundy grosgrain (retired), pool party ruffled & lucky limeade ruffled
Other: pre-printed clipboard, computer generated daily planner page

Recycling: A Fruit Jar to a Button Jar

Splitcoast Ways to Use It Challenge: Recycling

Instead of making a card, I used a small fruit jar and turned it into a button jar.

These peaches are made and distributed by CVS Pharmacy. Yup, a pharmacy. I don't like canned fruit and it's the syrup I need. Why, you ask? I take a bunch of meds (mostly non-coated generics) everyday and when my ulcers are bothering me, they make me nauseous and sometimes even sick. I have found that the syrup coats them enough to make it easier on me.

Recipe

Rubbernecker Stamps: Flourish Flower (530_15), sentiment (582_04)
Paper: SU whisper white, old olive, cherry cobbler
Ink: SU old olive & cherry cobbler
Tools: SU circle punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities scallop circle dies
Accessories: SU burgundy ribbon

Featured Stamper & Favorites

Today's featured stamper on Splitcoast is Korin (Sweet & Sassy Stamps). I absolutely love her gallery! After my card, I've linked some of her cards along with cards from some of the challenge players today.

My inspiration was based on Korin's Forget-Me-Nots card.

* Same colors & style EF
* Similar stamps & embellishing
* Turned the sketch and altered it a bit to accommodate the size
* Placed the flower embellishments differently
* No designer paper because I didn't have anything as pretty as Korin. I used a lacey border punch instead.

Rubbernecker Stamps: carnation (532_07),
sentiment (565_12)
Paper: GP white, SU retired eggplant envy & orchid opulence
Ink: Memento black, rich razzleberry, Copic markers (C1, V12, V15, V17, G24, G21)
Tools: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF, Spellbinders Nestabilities labels 17, Martha Stewart lacy scallop punch, SU oval punch
Accessories: SU ribbon, Primas, brads
Size: 4.5 square

Hearts Theme Matching Game

I really enjoyed today's Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge: Patina's. This is my second project for the challenge. I worked on and off all day on this matching game which was inspired by the candy matching game below. I didn't have enough candy stamps from one company, so I ran with the candy hearts idea and made a "Hearts" matching game.

Here's the finished project. I used a small flavored instant coffee tin to hold the pieces. I covered it with SU rose red designer series paper (retired). I also used SU white taffeta ribbon and Creative Memories heart maker. The rest of the details are listed below. I also have more photos to show closer up images of the game pieces.

TOOLS: SU circle punch, Marvy Mega scallop punch
INK: SU and Copic markers, Memento black
Cardstock: GKD white, SU melon mambo

Today is my wedding anniversary. Hot diggity dog, we made it another year! LOL!

Rubbernecker Stamps: Dog (569_12), Hot Diggity sentiment (568_11)
Paper: GP white, SU real red & black, GKD designer paper
Ink: Memento black, Copic markers (black, R27 cadmium red & cool gray #1)
Tools: Spellbinders' Nestabilities labels 17
Accessories: Offray ribbon, pop-up dots

Isn't Alex so adorable!?! I just had to make something a student could always use...
a post-it notes holder.
(You can see a picture of it opened up below the recipe.)

Rubbernecker Stamps: Alex (570_14)
Paper: GP white, SU riding hood red & ballet blue, notebook paper
Ink: Memento black, Copic markers (R46 strong red, B24 sky, Y17 golden yellow,
G28 ocean green, E00 skin white, warm gray #1)
Tools: SU large oval punch, Scor-Pal
Accessories: black brads
Other: velcro, 3x3 post-it notes

I used Velcro to close my post-it note holder. Magnetic discs are another option. The ones pictured above are made by Basic Grey.

These friends are waving... just because. Who needs a reason to say "hi?" I made this awhile ago for a Splitcoast sketch challenge but wanted to post it here because my next card uses only a part of this image.

Rubbernecker Stamps: Chick with Chicklettes (565_06), sentiment (565_22)
GP white cardstock
SU cardstock: crushed curry, summer sun, daffodil delight
SU designer paper: crushed curry dsp, sunny garden dp
Ink: Memento black, SU (creamy caramel, bashful blue, pumpkin pie),
Copic markers (Y38 honey, Y21 buttercup yellow)
Tools: EK Success flower punch, SU corner punch
Accessories: brads

Makes you wonder... What is normal?

These two little chicks just cracked me up when I first saw them. To me, it looks as if one of them is looking at the other like he (or she) is acting a little strangely.

Rubbernecker Stamps: Chick with Chicklettes (565_06),
What is normal? sentiment (564_07)

Paper: GP white, SU pumpkin pie & summer sun
Ink: Memento black, SU creamy caramel (for the ground),
Copic markers (Y17 golden yellow & YR16 apricot)
Tools: SU large oval punch, Spellbinders' Nestabilties scallop oval die & Borderabilities Lattice
Accessories: SU pumpkin pie taffeta ribbon
Size: 4.25 square

Do you like the two cute little shapes on both sides of the sentiment? All I did was use a paper piercer to poke out the negative parts of the border die cut. Cool huh? Yeah, they are quite small to work with, but the results are worth it!

Don't miss out on all of the wonderful creations made by these awesome ladies!

Changito with some Favorites from SCS

I have some faves to show you from the SCS gallery along with a couple of Stampendous Changito CAS cards I made last month for the July 4th holiday challenges. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

CAS Holiday Challenge #16: Theme Challenge -
Things that Fly on the Fourth of July

CAS Holiday Challenge #3: Things that sparkle

I used a stamp from a Gina K. Designs set called, Bug me Anytime for the "fireworks." Then I added red rhinestones to the center of them.

Inspired by this card by Qbee.

Paper: white, black
Ink: black, Copic markers
Tools: SU punch
Accessories: rhinestones

And as promised, here are some more gallery favorites:

With or Without?

This is one of the two Rubbernecker "Create a Garden" sets that I demoed at the Novi Stamp Show last weekend. After I was done with my card and uploading it on SCS, I wasn't sure if I was entirely satisfied with it. I ended up going back to my craft room with it. After adding the gingham bow, I still wasn't happy. I decided it just wasn't colorful enough so I colored the butterflies with Honey and Maize Copic markers. (The pot was colored with Apricot and Honey Copic markers.)

So which one do you like better? The first one or the "stepped up" second version?

These cards were made for the SCS Free 4 All Challenge: Frames

Rubbernecker Stamps: Create a Garden set 2 (513), sentiment (25_02)
Paper: white, bashful blue, lovely lilac
Ink: SU bashful blue, lovely lilac, wild wasabi & pumpkin pie, Memento black,

New Stamps, Stamp Show Photos & More

I had a lot of fun at last weekend's Novi Stamp Show. I helped demo some Rubbernecker stamps with Charlene (a.k.a. LilLuvsStampin). I've posted a couple of photos that Charlene took at the bottom of this post.

I've had fun making cards with some of my new stamps. I love the teddy bears in this set of inchies! There are 30 images in this set (426). I used three of the images to make a Congratulations card for my son's physical therapist. Her first grandson entered the world prematurely but is doing well! I'm so happy for her, but I'll also be happy to see her back in Michigan. My son has been doing so awesome in therapy. Yesterday, with little assistance, he stood for the first time since his surgery in May and even took a few steps with a walker!

Rubbernecker Stamps: Teddy Bear Inchies (426), sentiment (25_11)
Paper: white, SU certainly celelry, bashful blue, retired dp
Ink: Memento black, chocolate chip, Copic markers
Tools: 1" & 1.25" square punches
Accessories: SU white taffeta ribbon

This week's CAS challenge is a sketch by DT member, Terri (Die Cut Diva).

Rubbernecker Stamps: 2 part flourish (546_06), sentiment from Garden Shrub set (560)
Paper: white, kraft
Ink: chocolate chip, crumb cake
Accessories: prima, brad, retired SU ribbon

I think this lady (Jessica) looks like Julia Roberts in the 1990 movie, Pretty Woman. In the movie she wore a brown with white polka-dot dress and a hat like this image. You can see her in the trailer here.

Color Challenge: kraft, red, yellow & optional green
I used creamy caramel instead of kraft(crumb cake) because I only have a marker in that color.

Rubbernecker Stamps: Jessica (237_02),
sentiment (237_04), grass is from Kittie Kit master #1
Paper: GKD heavy weight white
Ink: Memento black, SU creamy caramel, chocolate chip, & real red, Copic markers (R27 cadmium red, Y17 golden yellow, E37 sepia, E33 sand, E51 milky white, E41 pearl white)
Accessories: rhinestone stickers, SU white taffeta ribbon

Featured Stamper & Favorites

SCS Featured Stamper: mocjen
I had such fun cruising her gallery. She is an excellent CAS stamper
and is part of our CAS challenge design team this summer.

This is the card that inspired me.

* I used the same basic layout. I turned the card, moved up the ribbon, and stamped the sentiment right on the base card rather than mounting it on a punched circle.
* I changed the colors and patterns of the 3 squares and added 3 three rhinstones.

Rubbernecker Stamps: flourish panel (580_02),
sentiment (565_10)
Paper: GKD white, SU pumpkin pie
Ink: SU certainly celery, pumpkin pie, bashful blue
Accessories: rhinestone stickers, SU white taffeta ribbon

This is Jennie's card that inspired my 2nd card.

* I used the same layout but I reversed it. (Put the monogram M on the other side.)
* I used a different scallop punch, a different "M" stamp, and used an oval instead of a circle.
* I kept the same colors but used a white card base. The border punch is hard to see in the photo, but it can be be seen in RL.
* I didn't use any pearls, but I added ribbon.

Rubbernecker Stamps: Floral Alphabet (526)
SU Paper: white and pacific point (cs & dsp)
SU ink: pacific point
Tools: Martha Stewart scalloped lace border punch, SU oval punch, scallop Nestabilities
Accessories: SU white taffeta ribbon

This is Jennie's card that inspired my 3rd card.

* I used the same layout but didn't do any distressing.
* I changed the colors and used different floral stamps.

A Cowgirl Double Challenge Card

I'm so used to making CAS cards that this card took for a very loooong time. But I wanted to use the sketch for this week's Mix it Up Monday challenge on StampTV.

And this is also for today's SCS Free 4 All Challenge: Two by Two - Do things in twos ... two of the same image, two bows, two buttons, two brads ... as long as there are two of the same thing somewhere on your creation.

So, I have two boots, each popped up at different heights. The main image is mounted on two different Nestabilities' styles. I have 2 rhinestones, one on each boot. I used to photo corner punches. And finally, I used two different patterns of designer paper.

The Gina K. tan leather BG mat is textured. I'm really disappointed it doesn't show on either of the photos. The "floor" that the boots are on is in SU's retired creamy caramel and is embossed with Cuttlebug's distressed stripes EF.

Stamps: Out West (Gina K. Designs/Theresa Momber - Illustrator)
Paper: GP white, SU chocolate chip, creamy caramel, pretty in pink and pretty in pink dsp, GKD tan leather, unknown plaid dp
Ink: Palette burnt umber, SU chocolate chip and early espresso markers, Copic markers (E23, E25, E33, E59)
Tools: Cuttlebug distressed stripes EF, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 10 die cut, Spellbinders Nestabilities lacey ovals, CM custom cutting system (for the plain oval), SU photo corner punch
Accessories: chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, rhinestone stickers, pop-up dots
Size: 5x5

Update: Where have I been?

BRIAN and CHLOE

Wow! I guess it's been awhile since I posted anything. Life has been super crazy here since my son's surgery in May. He has cerebral palsy and had 10 procedures/12 incisions done on his legs, knees, ankles and feet. He's just now becoming strong enough to help with transfers, but he isn't standing. If that wasn't enough, he had complications after surgery. He needed blood transfusions and a specialist is keeping track of his blood pressure and right kidney. He spent a month in casts. They were so heavy. Wow! We are glad they are gone! :) To get him to Children's Hospital in Detroit (for the blood pressure & kidneys), we had to rent a wheelchair minivan. Those things are not cheap. So yeah, the casts are a piece of the past I won't miss... or forget.

I have lots of cards to post, especially after the July 4th holiday CAS challenges. I'm still busy making cards, I'm just not getting here to post them. My writing hobby has been even more neglected, but things will progressively get better as the summer continues.

I've posted some pics for you so you can get an idea of what my son went through. He spent his 16th birthday in bed. Poor kid. He also missed SCAMP... a special summer camp for special kids. Brian is one of the kids pictured on their web site. It was taken a few years ago. You can see it HERE. He is the one getting a piggy back ride from one of the teenage volunteers.
