I've been having a lot of fun stamping and cruising, today (Saturday). I'm feeling so much better and have more energy. I've even done a lot of housework without being too sore. I'm so thankful!

SCS - Inspiration Challenge: Home Sweet Home... HOMES

SCS Inspiration Challenge
This week’s challenge is to make a card inspired by your home state, province, town or country. It could be where you were born, where you grew up and still call "home", or where you live now.

Michigan: the Mitten State
I think Michigan is the only state where people hold up their hand and point to where they live. LOL! I was thinking of making a mitten card, but I couldn't make myself do it. Winter needs to stay away!

Michigan: the Great Lakes State (HOMES) Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, & Superior

And a preview for Monday's CAS Challenge.... It has something to do with Michigan. Great timing! So, I'll be back with more Michigan inspired cards on Monday!

Michigan is the Great Lakes State. Besides the infamous Great Lakes, Michigan is filled with smaller lakes and water sports are very popular.

As with all of my cards today, this is a double challenge card.
StampTV's Glitter Challenge
After watching Gina's video, I see that I don't have the best tools. Looks like I needs a glue pen and colored glitter. Today I used Stickles and Studio G glitter glue. It's just not the same.

Stamps: Happy Camper (Gina K Designs)
Paper: chocolate chip, close to cocoa, SU dsp, white
Ink: black, Copic markers, certainly celery, bashful blue
Accessories: hemp, Stckles & Studio G glitter glue, sponge, handmade cloud template, dimensionals

Sketch: Card Positioning System 161

Michigan: Home of the Motor City

Stamps: Changito (Stampendous), sentiment (Gina K Designs - Tag Lines)
Paper: basic gray, basic gray dsp (SU), white
Ink: black, certainly celery, Copic markers
Accessories: brads

Sketch: Sweet Sunday Sketch 63

If you live in Michigan, you'll probably agree that Michigan's symbol should be an orange construction barrel!

Stamps: Stampin' Up!
Paper: brocade blue, only orange, brocade blue dsp, white
Ink: black, Copic markers
Accessories: Offray ribbon, Martha Stewart zig-zag border punch, CM custom cutting system, SU 1 3/4 circle punch, dimensionals

This card measures 4.25 square. I use 4.5 A Muse envelopes.

A Children's Book Challenge

Here's my 2nd card that I'm submitting for Gina K's CenterStage Spotlight DT search this month.

Is there is anyone who doesn't remember Dr. Seuss books? Years ago, I worked in a daycare. I loved reading this book to the really young ones. My card isn't an exact scene from the book, but it reminds me of the predictable pattern that is so important for young children. On some days, I miss working with really young children.

Recipe:
Stamps: Spring Has Sprung (GKD/Rupa Shevde), Purrr-fectly Delightful (GKD/Theresa Momber)
Paper: lemon drop (GKD), apricot appeal (SU), DCWV dp, unknown dp
Ink: black, Copic markers, certainly celery, bashful blue, basic gray, melon mambo
Accessories: Offray satin ribbon, Nestabilities, handmade cloud template, sponge, SU scallop edge punch, Martha Stewart butterfly punch

Gina K Designs Illustrators' Blog Hop

It's tonight! The GKD Illustrators' Blog Hop & Center Stage Spotlight DT Search

I am so honored to be one of Tami Mayberry's guest designer's for her March Release set:
Fairy Tales

Tami invited her design team to participate in Gina's challenge: Choose your favorite children's book and make a project inspired by the book. Include a photo of book along with why you chose it and how it inspired your project.

In Honor of Cinderella: May all your wishes come true!

Accessories: 1.5 square punch, pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, gkd spring assortment buttons, white ep, Star Dust Stickles, pop-up dots

The pink square with the "glass slipper" is popped up. This book will always remind me of my little cousin, Katie. When she was young, all she wanted to pretend play was the story of Cinderella. She's not so little anymore, though. She started her first job as a special education teacher this school year. That makes me feel old. LOL!

You shine!
Of course, I couldn't stop at just one card!

Paper: bubble gum, creme de menthe (gkd), Basic Grey Lemonade
Accessories: rhinestone stickers, organdy ribbon, Nesties, Stardust Stickles
Size: 4.25 square

Bookmarks: May all your wishes come true!

You will find more information about tonight's Illustrators' Blog Hop here.

Please visit Tami's blog and see some great creations from her
and her other guest designers!

So what's your favorite children's book?

Here are the challenge rules for this month's DT search:

  • Challenge: Choose your favorite children's book and make a project inspired by the book. Include a photo of book along with why you chose it and how it inspired your project.
  • Requirement: use any of the GKD March Release stamp sets.
  • Post: Post your card in the gallery at StampTV using the keyword-APRILBOOK
  • Deadline: Monday, April 12th at 8 pm central time
  • Prize: The winner will become the CenterStage Spotlight Designer for April (the winner will receive the entire April release!, participate in the previews, release party and next month's DT search challenge!)

Serenity Prayer

Double Challenge

SCS - CAS Challenge
Ways to Use It: The only stamping on your card is a sentiment (or verse). (Use any colors, papers, embellishments & sentiments) – just keep it simple *wink*

Christian Paper Crafts Color Challenge
This is a pretty open color challenge this week: The Serenity prayer is calming & encouraging. It makes me feel cozy as if I'm being wrapped in His
arms. Cozy, calm, and encouraging to me is cocoa brown and colors of the sea (shades of green and/or blue). For your color challenge card this week, use colors that make you feel as if you're being wrapped in the arms of Jesus.

Stamps: Serenity Prayer (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper: sage shadow, white, SU designer paper
Ink: sage shadow, chocolate chip marker
Accessories: Nestabilities large scallop rectangle die cut, EK Success border punch, SU felt ribbon (retired - Alpine ribbon originals)
