GET YOUR TICKETS!!!!

Welcome to CAS Amusement Park! Are you ready for a thrilling adventure? Do you have your sunglasses, sunscreen, bathing suit & towel, your camera... and of course your crafting supplies?

At the end of this adventure, we will have seen some amazing eye-candy, found a bunch of new guest designers, and welcomed our new Summer 2010 CAS design team! How fun is that? Just as much as paper-crafting!!!

I hope you have your tickets, because we're ready to go through those fun rotating gate thingies. Below are all the details. To join the fun, please visit the special thread on Splitcoaststampers here.

CHALLENGE #1 - Posted Friday, May 21
As you're walking into an amusement park, the first thing I usually encounter is a bunch of photographers offering to take group portraits. So, this challenge is two-fold.

1. Your card needs to have a person, character, or group as your focal image. If you're making a card, a stamped image is perfect. If you're making a scrapbook page, a photo is perfect... but just one photo.
2. Walking into an amusement park is usually a bold & bright mix of colors, patterns, and textures. Please add a tiny bit of bold flashy ribbon. Bonus points if you are also able to add texture while still keeping it CAS.
3. Please remember that while all of these elements are fun, the idea is to keep it clean & simple.

Challenge #2
Keyword: Sum2010CAS2
This challenge is the same as this week's regularly scheduled CAS challenge. See below for the new deadline. I forgot about no upload Sunday. The new deadline will be for both challenges 1 & 2 and we'll go from there.

NEW DATE
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, May 26 @ 5:00PM EST

The continuing list of stampers will be revealed with the next CAS challenge. The DT challenge will be able to be combined with the weekly CAS challenge this coming Monday.

Now.... I want you to listen to me. This is NOT a popularity contest. As a special ed teacher, I love rooting for the underdog as well as long time stampers. Do NOT assume you are not good enough.

Standard Expectations of a DT member: I need you to post your sample for each challenge on Sunday evening between 10PM-11PM EDT. You may miss 1 or 2 weeks do to illness or emergencies. Having experience posting threads is not mandatory, but it is helpful. We can teach you. (This would be needed if I am unable to do it for some unexpected reason.) You will be participating in choosing the challenges for the season during your 2nd week as a DT member. The summer DT starts the first Monday in June and ends the last Monday in August.

Did a little cruising...

It's been awhile since I've posted random favorites I've seen in galleries. I've been exhausted from unexpected life "things". There are not a lot of cards here, considering how little I've posted faves, but it's a start. I love the inspiration I get from everyone.

Featured Stamper CAS Card

SCS's Featured Stamper is ctorina! I love her work and have posted some more of my faves in the post below.

I chose this card as my inspiration. I made it narrower and used a different flower stamp and type of ribbon. I kept it black and white, removed the bottom black layer, and moved the sentiment over. I also opted out of the Swiss Dot embossing since I already had so many polka-dots with my flowers and ribbon. I hope she likes my CASE :)

Stamps:
polka-dot flower (DRS Designs)
Masculine Messages sentiment (Gina K Designs)

Let your dreams find wings ~ Notecard

I actually made this card a few weeks ago and forgot to upload since I had chosen another card for a gkd designer challenge. When I saw the dishes as the first inspiration piece attached to today's challenge, I instantly remembered the card. I looked, and sure enough, I never uploaded it. So unlike me, but I've had a lot going on lately.

So, that all being said, here is my very quick *wink* SCS inspiration card. The Two Lumps of Sugar Deco Melamine Dishes can be found here.

Stamps: Spring has Sprung (Gina K Designs)
Paper: soft sky scallop note card, soft sky dsp, white
Ink: black, Copic marker for the butterfly
Accessories: ribbon, white gel pen
