I have exciting news to share!

I just posted this on the DRS Designs blog!

Wow! What an exciting day this is! First thing I did today was shopping at the stamp & paper craft show in Novi, Michigan. And I met Sue, owner of DRS Designs!!! Now I'm home and my internet is working again. Yeah! So now I get to announce that I'm the newest member of the design team! I'm so excited!!! I hope to inspire you during this journey. Although I've hostessed challenges for a few years on Splitcoast Stampers, this is my first DT experience.

Every year, I make a new name tag for attending rubber stamp shows. This is the name tag I wore, today. I always meet at least one person. Today, I met MichiganFan! I know I ran into others, but I didn't catch their names. If you're reading this, I had a blast! And I'm a little more poor. LOL! (This name tag will become a bookmark when I'm done using it.)

This stamp is available on the DRS website. I used Copic markers Y38 , E35, and E31 to color the image. I also used SU's basic black marker because I have trouble with using black in small areas and basic black has a very small point. I used SU's creamy caramel & close to cocoa markers for the dirt ground and then sponged it with creamy caramel. Then I used the basic black marker again for the doodling. Before wearing it, I put an eyelet with some ribbon at the top to have something to hook the pin to it and my shirt.

At the Novi show, I added to my Copic marker collection and learned a couple of new techniques that I'd like to show you when I get the chance to take photos of the step-by-step instructions.

Hope you're having a great weekend. And happy stamping!

Jen, Jenny, Jennifer... You can't go wrong because I answer to all of them. There's a history about that, but that's a long story for another day. *wink*

So Many Candles

Here's my card for the Inspiration Challenge #191: Heavenly Hostess. I chose the "Let's Bake" set of aprons, towels & pot holders. There's even a matching headband! LOL! I think I could make a lot of cards with this print. Yum!

The rest of this DRS sentiment says, "So little breath!"

Stamps: cake, flower border, & sentiment (DRS Designs)
Paper: white, black, rose red, dsp - rose red & regal rose
Ink: black, palette burnt umber, rose red, Copic markers (Y38, Y35, Y08, R83, RV17, E13, G24, V09)
Accessories: SU modern label & scallop edge punches, Martha Stewart ribbon punch, brads, dimensionals
Techniques: paper piecing

Wow! Look at this new inspiring mosaic stamp set!!

Wow! I had a great time at the Gina K Designs release party last night. I can't wait to make some challenge cards this weekend. But this party was a little different for me this time. I was the lucky CAS stamper to win this new Inspiration Mosaic stamp set designed by Melanie Muenchinger (a.k.a. melmel on SCS). It came in my mailbox yesterday afternoon and I made cards almost to the time of the party! LOL! How fun it was to showcase them at the party. I can see myself using this set A LOT!!! It is so easy to use for CAS cards and at the same time it can be used for more complex and embellished cards. I chose to show a CAS version and a stepped version of each card. Here is the first of 3 sets of cards I made with Inspiration Mosaic. I will be sure to post the other 2 sets when I get the chance. To see them more quickly, the link to my StampTV gallery is in the left side bar.

Here is a CAS card using Melanie Muenchinger's new stamp set, Inspiration Mosaic.

Stamps: Inspiration Mosaic (Gina K)
Paper: white, so saffron, dsp - so saffron, pretty in pink, & regal rose)
Ink: black
Accessories: SU small star punch

In the Stars card #2

Here is the stepped up version of my "In the Stars" CAS card using Melanie Muenchinger's new stamp set, Inspiration Mosaic. For the faux stitching, I simply used a paper piercer on the stamped lines. It was faster than I thought it would be.

Stamps: Inspiration Mosaic (Gina K)
Paper: white, so saffron, dsp - so saffron, pretty in pink, & regal rose)
Ink: black
Accessories: brads, eyelet, ribbon, paper piercer, SU small star punch, star dust Stickles
Techniques: faux stitching

Hip Hop Thursday

Ways to Use It challenge: Use office supplies. See the pumpkin spiral clip? I found that at Target in the office supplies section when I was a new stamper a few years ago. I saw them again a week or so ago at Office Max! They haven't gone out of style! Then I was reorganizing my embellishments recently and rediscovered them. LOL! This is the 2nd one I've used.

Something else from the past is the scalloped edge made with SU's slit punch. I found it in my scrap bin. I wonder how long its been there?

Unity Hip Hop Challenge: CHA
With the Unity crew all in Florida for CHA, your challenge is to create a card using that acronym...

C is for coloring- color your stamped image
H is for holes- add in paper piercing on your card somewhere
A is for amore- make the card for someone you love

SUPPLIES

Unity's July KOTM - bird & sentiment
Stampin' Up - modern label punch & matching stamp
Colors: regal rose, pumpkin pie, cool caribbean, black
Copic markers: G24, R83, BG01
Accessories: spiral clip, ribbon, slit punch, modern label punch, paper pier & mat stack, dots made with SU regal rose marker, dimensionals, sponge & handmade cloud template, petal pink Liquid Pearls

Sally Snail

I think today's sketch challenge on SCS is awesome! So many images can be used with it.

This card had a mind of it's own. I initially thought it would be a CAS card. But one thing led to another. LOL! The flower part of the snail is popped up on dimensionals. The flower punches were added to look like a trail. Not sure it worked :) What do you think? Does this card have too much?

Stamps: All DRS Designs - Sally Snail, flower, grass
Paper: white, melon mambo, pretty in pink, DSP - regal rose, pretty in pink, bashful blue, apricot appeal
Ink: black, SU markers - certainly celery & melon mambo, Copic markers (RV17, RV23, RV21, B32, YR04, Y35)
Accessories: ribbon, SU scallop edge & window word punches, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, EK Success flower punch, brads, dimensionals

Another card for Hip Hop :)

I used today's SCS sketch challenge again to make another Unity card. I have 3 submitted for tomorrow's Hip Hop! I wonderful if this week will be my lucky week? No matter though. I love using the Unity stamps I have :)

Stamps: flowers & sentiment (Unity), Aida Cloth BG (Stampin' Up)
Paper: white, black, cool caribbean, so saffron dsp
Ink: black, cool caribbean, Copic markers (Y23, BG01, RV10)
Accessories: SU slit punch, brad, eyelet, ribbon, Opal White & Petal Pink Liquid Pearls, dimensionals
Wish RAK: Aida Cloth BG stamp, pretty in pink striped ribbon, white brad

The flowers are cut out and popped up on dimensionals.

OMG! OMG! OMGosh!!!!!

I went shopping today after I dropped DS off at day camp. My local stamp store wasn't open yet, so I went to JoAnn's. (I'm completely out of Tombow. Side story... hubby said he would see what Meijer had a couple of days ago. He brought home scoth tape runner. It's awful. It's bunches up and leaves noticable bumps when layering. Yuck!) OK... back to the story. LOL!Wow! Everything I got was either on sale, on clearance, or in the $1 bin! Even brads were in the $1 bin!

And then I got to my LLS!!! I just about shrieked. LOL! They have been getting more up to the times since the new owner took over last summer. They have been stocking Copic markers & Whipper Snapper as well as Stampendous & Inky Antics clear stamps. And a lot more punches.

But today...... They had Martha Stewart punches! AND They had DRS DESIGNS! OMG!!!! How exciting.

But that's not all! I got the scoop! They have just ordered stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms and in the near future they'll be carrying Papertrey and Our Daily Bread designs! They know about Gina K and didn't have any interest, but I hope I changed their minds. Their visiting SCS now, so I hope they also get interested in Unity and other SCS member companies.

I also found out which companies they will order from only by customer request because they just aren't selling well anymore: A Muse, Hero Arts, Art Gone Wild, House Mouse, Inkadinkado and probably a few others I can't remember. They'll continue to offer Great Impressions, Impression Obsession and Gelatins as well as a couple small companies in our state.

I also bought a ticket to the stamp show this weekend. I'm so excited! Some of the companies that will be there include: DRS Designs, Impression Obsession, Our Daily Bread, and Starving Artists. Darcie's hasn't been there in a couple of years. I love their stamps. Sigh.

Well, that all for now. I need to get in the gallery and see what I missed the last couple of days. :)

Bug Me Anytime - A Perfect Set for Paper Tole

Is anyone else getting excited seeing all the new Gina K sneak peeks!?! The reveal party on Thursday is going to be so much fun! Unity Hip Hop during the day & Gina K reveal that night. I need to clear my schedule!!!

Here are a few blogs with some great sneak peeks.

Bug Me Anytime (A Great Gina K set that I won!!)

This set is perfect for paper tole! It certainly is not CAS. It took me forever! But it was well worth it when DH was amazed and gave it high praise. :) This Gina K set was designed by Nina Brackett.

This card qualifies for many Dare to Get Dirty challenges you can find here.

For the Paper Tole Technique: The top flower is popped up as a whole. Then the center is popped up again. For the second flower on the right, The bottom half is popped up and then just the laft side is popped up again. The lady bug is popped up as a whole and then just the body is popped up. Two of the leaves are popped up on one side. The white layer of the sentiment is popped up on the razzleberry mat.The butterflies are bent and popped up on one side. I used the top flower to stamp with razzleberry on razzleberry for the DP by Me challenge. I wish I could see more of it because it shows up nicely for tone one tone. And finally, these colors coordinate so much better in real life. I took a ton of photos and did a lot of editing, but this is the best I could get.
