Philippians 4:13

I made this for the LSC challenge. We had to use black as our base color so the colors would pop.

I used a new SAB set, that will be available next month, with a Bible verse from Verve.

Stamps: Beible verse - Verve, Botanical Blooms - Stampin' Up (SAB)
Paper: white, black, bashful blue bashfule blue DSP
Accessories: ribbon, paper piercing

SAB - Blast from the Past

Anyone remember the SAB stamp Big Blossom. It was the size of a BG stamp! I'm not sure it was very popular and even I sold mine on eBay. I couldn't get a good impression with ink. But I did save the card board template I made if I ever want to use it for patterned paper again.

Stamp: Big Blossom, Petal Pushers, Cheesecloth
Paper: chocolate chip, bashful blue, so saffron, Spring Showers DP
Ink: chocolate chip, bashful blue
Accessories: circle punch

Here's another look at Big blossom on a square card. This card measures 4.25 square. I use 4.5 A Muse envelopes.

Stamps: Big Blosom, A Light Heart, Warm Words
Paper: real red, cameo coral, white, unknown DP
Ink: real red, cameo coral
Accessories: circle punches, paper piercer, paper clip

Here's the Big Blossom as an accent on a 12x12 scrapbook page.

Stamps: Big Blossom, Happy Everything
Paper: close to cocoa, so saffron, Spring showers DP
Ink: chocolate chip
Accessories: ribbon

Faux Embossing with Hearts and Stripes

For the Ways to Use It challenge, we needed to customize our designer paper. I chose to use the faux dry embossing technique. And I used my new Hundred Hearts set from Verve. I love this company... which is one of the reasons why I cut my SU order in half last night.

Stamps: Hundred Hearts - Verve
Paper: so saffron, chocolate chip, regal rose, very vanilla, Making Memories DP
Accessories: eyelet, ribbon, CM heart maker, chocolate chip marker, scallop edge punch

Faux dry embossing technique: choose a shape that can be punched. It can be flowers, circles, anything you like. Simply line them up on the patterned paper and glue! Easy peasy... usually. This is the first time I've tried it with stripes. A couple of my hearts are a little off. Now you're going to look for them, aren't you? LOL! (To get a better view, right click on the photo.)

Thank you, Dr. Ferguson

The silver ribbon is for mental health. The 3 different sizes of brads symbolizes how a person starts in treatment and they gradually get better until one day they have blossomed into the person they were meant to be.

This thank you card is for my family's psychiatrist. She has helped us through a difficult period in our lives revolving around events that started with me. I recently sat in a session with my son who has CP, depression, and high functioning autism... that's tough... or at least I thought. Wow! I was so amazed at how she was able to get him to talk. I'm in tears as I'm writing this. We were able to meet with his school team again with more specific information as to why he acted out as he did recently.

Stamps: Ribbon - Our Daily Bread, sentiment - SU
Paper: unknown speckled light gray, basic black, white
Accessories: diamond stickles, brads, paper piercer, white gel pen, CB birds & swirls (Wish RAK), and designer label, circle, and oval punches

SU's New Catalog Review & Should I Continue On? & Other Stuff!

My new Stampin' Up catalogs are here finally! I have no idea when SU finally got it up online. All I know is it was late. I took a nap because I was exhausted from not sleeping well. I was bummed about that because I had been doing so well with getting enough rest lately. But I'm off-topic. When I woke up.... my box of 8 catalogs were here! LOL!

I found out that I'm not in pending after all. Because of economic times and SAB being in February, we were given an unexpected, never before done, waiver for another quarter. I'm finally starting to feel better after my last meds adjustment and I'm excited about the news. This catalog is fab and it almost makes me want to try to make it a business. But I'm worried. I've always felt uncomfortable about asking people to come spend money... especially now. I love having workshops though. Teaching is what I love to do. But then there's the fact that other companies line of unmounted stamps are so apppealing. So..... now I'm not sure what to do with all these extra catalogs. LOL!

OK... Here's my review from my own personal style.

I must have and they will be on my 1st order:
  • Font of You
  • Totally Tool
  • Thoughts & Prayers
  • Cheep Talk
  • Curly Label Bundle (It finally sucked me in!)
  • Jumbo Brads
  • Refill cardstock supplies

These are on my Wish List:
  • Animal Crackers
  • A Kind Word
  • Special Blessings
  • Once Upon A time
  • Wonderful Favorites (It's always been on my wish list!)
  • Varsity Alphabet & Numbers
  • Starring You (Don't Know why I don't have it yet.)
  • Fleurettes
  • Button Latte
  • Bella Blossom (I was shocked to find this on the dormant list.)

I like these but probably wouldn't use them:
  • That's Funny (It's hilarious, but I probably would only use the cake on a card.)
  • Sweet Stems (I have sooo many flowers and my new hostess set, Itty Bitty Buds, will do.)
  • On Your Birthday (I have a lot of sentiments already.)
  • Corduroy Buttons (but they are cute!)
  • New striped ribbon - so saffron, pretty ink & old olive (I've discovered that I don't use the striped ribbon I already have.)

These products are just not for me:
  • Big Shot & accessories (only because of the price)
  • Rub-ons
  • chipboard
  • decor elements
I look forward to blog hopping to see if anyone else has their ideas of the new catty.
