Each day holds...

SCS Inspiration Challenge #209
Charm Lady Boutique

I was inspired by the beautiful Sparkly Twigs pendant.

There are liquid pearls in the center of each.... Not sure what to call them. It's supposed to be a branch. LOL! Anyway, the liquid pearls can be seen IRL and they are white. The polka-dots on the letters is part of the stamp made by Unity. And the dots, bigger than a marker dot and perfectly round, were made with a Martha Stewart edge punch. It also embosses a row of scallops just above the punched scallops.

Stamps: Linden Branch, sentiment (Unity)
Paper: chocolate chip, bashful blue, white
Ink: chocolate chip
Accessories: taffeta ribbon, Martha Stewart edge punch, Liquid Pearls

The Three Wish Men

The Three Wise Men

I've been so nervous about making this card! The Three Wise Men Ornament (DRS Designs) is so beautiful and I'm not sure I did it justice. My idea was to leave the card simple to show off that beautiful image.

The image is colored with Copic markers. I used an eyelet to lace the gold ribbon through. The greeting is inked with a marker to stamp it at two different levels. The next time I do that, I will be more careful about measuring distance. Yikes! Finally, the navy blue layer is mounted on pop up dots.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

I'm Holly Jolly by Golly

SCS Inspiration Challenge #208

I have to be honest... When I saw sock monkey in Unity's KOM last month, I didn't think I would ever use this sock monkey. But I stamped some up thinking he might become cute. Well, it turns out that Oliebollen has a sock monkey for sale! Here's my conversation with myself before I made the card. LOL!

So.... What kind of card should I make? I do need more Christmas cards. Maybe I could find a Santa hat that wasn't too, too big for him. I found this one in my Wish RAK Christmas stash. What sentiment should I use? My favorite unique sentiments are from Unity & TAC. When I saw this one that I hadn't ever used, I thought it was perfect... just as goofy as the sock monkey!

PLEASE don't be offended if you like the sock monkey.

It turns out I like the card. LOL! I just don't know who I would give it to!

Stamps: sock monkey (Unity), sentiment (TAC), Santa Hat (unknown)
Paper: white, real red, close to cocoa & real red dsp
Ink: close to cocoa, Copic marker (R29?)
Accessories: Martha Stewart snowflake punch, brads, ribbon, SU wide oval punch, Marvy mega scallop oval punch, white gel pen

Traditional Christmas Colors

I'd forgotten how much fun the traditional red & green Christmas cards are to make. Green & red makes my son happy. He's on the Autism spectrum and according to him, I'm breaking the rules when I make a Christmas card in non-traditional colors. LOL! To see more of my DRS Christmas cards, click here.

I love to color!

I love to color! It's very relaxing to me. So, some days I just color instead of making a card. If you love challenges the way I do, you'll see how very beneficial this is. It's so much quicker to get that challenge card uploaded! I can completely skip a step if I have the right image colored. As you can see from the above photo, that doesn't happen very often. LOL!

This is the card I made for today's Clean & Simple challenge on SCS. I had her colored ahead of time. So it was completely coincidental that I was making a card with a kitten. I almost didn't have this uploaded in time for my challenge sample. I couldn't find my camera. Does anyone else have that problem? I do because I have to hide it from our kitten... and I don't always remember to hide it in the same spot. She likes the cord! I usually have the Christmas tree up by this time, I'm a little nervous. Now this kitty on the card looks so innocent. She would never hurt anything! LOL!

It's make-over week for the last challenge of the season. I chose to make over a card by making it cleaner. It still has some layers, but the dp isn't distracting my eyes from the image. And I used a bow punch and doodling instead of ribbon. That saved some time. Here is the original card.

Stamps: Sittin' Pretty Kitty (G136), Merry Christmas Arc (E102), and the gift background (H1140) - all DRS Designs
Paper: white, gable green, green galore, real red
Ink: black, gable green, Copic markers
Accessories: CM custom cutting system, SU scallop edge punch, Martha Stewart bow punch

I love these short snowmen!

SCS Featured Stamper: Mrs. Boz

I had fun cruising CarollAnne's gallery, today. Here is the card that inspired me.

*I used the same theme and I changed the image from 3 mice to 3 snowmen.
*I used a dp print and used it for just a portion of the card. I didn't want to cover the words on the dp and it already had a sentiment, so I used just a bow instead.
*I didn't use a ticket corner punch or layer the image layer.

I received this adorable Whipper Snapper image from Wish RAK.
