For the graduates

This year I needed graduation cards for girls. And they're sisters. One is graduating from college and the other is graduating from high school. The HS grad LOVES pink. So I made her card first at the right. The graduation caps are paper pieced with DSP. I used SCS's sketch challenge 169.

Stamps: Tassel Time, Fancy Flexible Phrases
Paper: basic black, white, pretty in pink DSP
Ink: black
Accessories: taffeta ribbon, scallop scissors
Techniques: paper piecing

After I made the first pink card, I thought I would could continue with the pink. I wanted to use my new CHF owl image. I think it works because she's not actually done with school. She's doing her master's right away. Doesn't this owl look like he's saying something like, "Whooo's done with school? Me... Not quite!" LOL!

I colored the owl with Copic markers. You can see a tutorial here. I used a chocolate chip marker for the line branch and a black marker for the dots. I intended to use Beate's weekend sketch #51, but my owl was too big. .. and then I added the sentiment. ... And then I added the diploma.... and the middle panel is almost covered up so you don't quickly see the 3 panels. LOL! Oh well. I'll try again because it's a cool sketch. You can find it here.

Stamps: CHF - URA Hoot, Stampin Up - Tassel Taime
Paper: basic black, white, pretty in pink DSP
Ink: black
Accessories: Copic markers, chocolate chip & black markers for the details, gingham ribbon, circle punched, dimensionals
