Can you believe we've been having these DT challenges for 2 years? Wow! CAS wouldn't be a success without you. Really. Have you noticed how the trend has exploded in the paper crafting world? And we were at the beginning of it all. Kind of gives me chills. Okay, it really does give me chills. *u* When I was young, I didn't think I had a creative thought worth sharing. Even when a person is creative, talent takes practice. I'm sure any athlete would tell you the same thing. So, don't give up! It's something I have to tell myself, too. Do you know that while I've hostessed a variety of challenges over the past 5.5 years, I've only been on 2 design teams? I finally had to sit back and relax about it before those came along. I'm now content to be a StampTV Centerstage (guest designer) alumni member doing blog hops for Gina K. and making other people's dreams come true here in the CAS forum.
I get so giddy and nervous by this point every season. You'd think I was one of the semi-finalists. LOL! Thank you for playing ladies! You are all worthy of being a design team member.
Okay... speech is done!
Here are your finalists in random order...
Thank you to my awesome design team
for helping me with the difficult task of choosing the finalists!

CHALLENGE #3
Spring showers bring May flowers!
Ways to Use It Challenge: Flowers
Your card doesn't have to have stamped flowers. You can use punches, die cuts, primas, etc. Let your creativity flow!
Style and beauty/cuteness is always important, but the CASness of the cards will be viewed heavily in the first elimination judging since basically it's challenging to keep it that way and there are a lot more cards I have to sadly eliminate. (Our current definition for a CAS card is near the bottom of this post.)
My Sample!
Keyword: CAS2011springDT3
(No spaces CAS 2011 spring DT 3 -- not good. If you are concerned about getting it right, copy & paste it into your keyword box.)
Please also post a link in this thread just in case there is an error with the keyword or if the gallery is being finicky on the judging days.
Submission Deadline:
Wednesday, March 2 @ noon (EST)
New Rules as of Fall 2010:
Please don't combine this challenge with any other current SCS challenge.
Please make only one card. (It's easier to narrow down the field this way.)

What is CAS?
CAS is an acronym for Clean and Simple. Below is the reworded definition.
It's all about the design.
* not the technique
* not the tools
* not the embellishments
It's all about the design.
* Uncluttered
* lots of white or open space
* one main focal point
It's all about the design.

You are amazing, Jen. I haven't been able to play due to having a new puppy in the house but life is returning so I can have some free time again to play the CAS challenges. Awesome choice of new DT hopefuls...off to think of an idea.
The CAS challenges at SCS are my absolute favorite. I spend much of my creative free time making Artist Trading Cards, which are typically covered in "stuff" from corner to corner (mine are, at least). It is always such a relief for me to make a card that is clean and simple, which is typically the only kind of card I make now. Thank you so much for providing the challenges each week and for the inspiration. I love CAS!
