Masculine Cards?

It's All About You

This week's SCS Clean & Simple challenge was to make a masculine card. I generally think of masculine cards as teens & adults. But this is great for a young boy. At least it's not pink. Pink is what DS calls girly.

I used the spotlighting technique. It's great to focus in on one thing, which is what I was after for this sentiment. (It's also great when you don't have time to color a huge image. :) I used just the first 1/2 of the sentiment and cut each word out. The inside continues the sentiment... "at least for today. Happy Birthday!"

Stamps: All images are DRS Designs: Jimbo & the Gang (P891) & birthday sentiment (H371)
Paper: white, more mustard
Ink: black, SU more mustard marker, Copic markers
Accessories: SU cirle and word window punches
Technique: spotlighting, doodling

This card measures just under 5x5.

Coast to Coast

Color Challenge: Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla, Taken with Teal

I made a substitute for very vanilla. It's either confetti cream or naturals ivory (both SU)

I've had this Coast to Coast image Wish RAK for a very long time and have used only one or two of them. I think this is a masculine card. I'm just not sure if I should have added the ribbon. However, I think my FIL would like it anyway.

Stamps: Coast to Coast
Accessories: swirl clip, Offray & American Crafts ribbon, dimensionals
Techniques: sponging, tearing

How come I never thought to spotlight this jungle image?? How fun and less coloring, too!

Your lighthouse card is absolutely gorgeous -- it makes me wish I had this stamp!!
