SIGNS OF AUTUMN

GUARD DUTY RUDY

CC186: really rust, chocolate chip, baja breeze
Wish RAK Challenge Item: DP
PIF: Rudy image, photo corners

I had planned on this being a card for this week's Mojo challenge. But you know when mistakes happen and you have to cover them up... and then the card just takes a new path? This was one of those cards. LOL!

This card measures 5x5.

Stamps: Guard Duty Rudy - High Hopes, sentiment SU Peaceful Pastoral, Canvas ( on creamy caramel )
Paper: really rust, chocolate chip, baja breeze, white, DP, creamy caramel
Ink: black, creamy caramel
Accessories: Copic markers, SU rust & chocolate markers, ribbon, whole punch, copper brads, ribbon, square punch, photo corner punches

AT THE FARM

I made this card during the Labor Weekend challenges. And Wow! This took forever... like almost 2 hours. I was so nervous. LOL! I drew the side of the barn. That was the most nerve racking part because everything else was done and if I messed up the barn, there goes the whole card. But I think it came out pretty good. :) This scene is so big I couldn't play with layouts or do much embellishing. I finally decided on ribbon in the corners. I'm bow impaired, so I was pretty happy with that, too. LOL! The sky is lightly sponged with soft sky. I used a Micron pen for the drawing and Copic markers for coloring. The lone leaf on the ground is popped up on a dimensional. I used the fern stamp from Watercolor Minis on the ground and for the tree leaves.

Stamps: Sign Post - Rubbernecker, wheelbarrow Friends - Art Gone Wild, leaf - SU Give Thanks, Fern - SU Watercolor Minis
Paper: creamy caramel, riding hood red, white
Ink: black, soft sky, & creamy caramel, certainly celery, really rust (dirt & tree)
Accessories: Copic markers, Micron black pen, gingham ribbon, dimensional

FLUFFLES

I made this card a couple of years ago, I think.... back when I loved multiple background stamps on a single card. I never would have dared to part with DP back then. LOL! I still love Fluffles!

Stampendous Stamp: Fluffles

2. High Hopes has a new BLOG where you can get exciting new and links to all the DT blogs and sneak peeks :)

3. Tomorrow they will have their first challenge on their blog. (It's already on my challenge list on the side bar :)

LET IT SNOW: This card uses SCS sketch challenge 191. I had fun with the liquid applique. You may want to right click on the image to get a new window and bigger picture. The "snow" is flying up in front of the toboggan and has landed moose's nose!

In-Color '09 - Baja Breeze

Of all the new Stampin' Up! In-colors, baja breeze was my least favorite. But I'm starting to change my mind after 2 SCS color challenges and last week's Ways to Use It challenge.

CC185: baja breeze, very vanilla, kiwi kiss

Wish RAK items for the September sketch Challenge:
Le Jardin DP and the white eyelets

CC182: This was a monochromatic challenge. I had just been asked by a friend to make some sympathy cards for her to have on hand. and I had just received my DSP prints and decided to give baja breeze a try for the first time (3 weeks ago). I have to say, of all 3 of my baja cards, this one is my favorite.

World Alzheimer's Day - Thank You Caregivers

Featured SCS Stamper: E3stamper

Because the card I CASEd was this week's sketch challenge on a square card, I had to be careful to keep most of it the same. I used the same colors with one exception. I had to use chocolate chip DSP instead of close to cocoa DSP. I used this years prints instead of last years. Since I didn't have argyle, I used a print with a diamond pattern in it. I used a similar autumn image, I used a sentiment at the bottom instead of a border image. I used 2 big brads instead of 4 little ones. I added a touch more distressing and added a spiral clip and ribbon. This card measures 5x5.

Here's Shannon's adorable card.

This also qualifies for a September Wish RAK challenge. My granted wishes are the big brown brads. I love them! And the adorable Harvest Bear image was a PIF image from InkStazOnMe.

And I'm very excited to tell you about World Alzheimer’s Day and Cammie's Blog Candy (Carolyn King). To enter, each person needs to make a card for a caregiver. This is so wonderful since the caregivers give so much of their love, time and energy to people with Alzheimer's and it's often taken for granted. This card is going to my mom and dad. For details about Carolyn's blog candy, here is her blog link. You don't want to miss this. There are several companies and individuals who donating items for this HUGE blog candy.

Stamps: Harvest Bear - TAC, Heard from the Heart - SU
Paper: chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, white, DSP - more mustard, chocolate chip, old olive
Ink: black, chocolate chip, creamy caramel
Accessories: Copic markers, spiral clip, ribbon, brads, cutter lit, dimensionals

BOO 3: Eeeek! Just don't lose the candy corn!

I love eating chocolate and Reese's peanut butter cups at Halloween, but the best Halloween candy has to be the candy corn! Yum!

For the candy corn charm, I used 3 circle punches. Cut them into pieces. Then I trimmed the edges with scissors. (It was too small to fit in my corner rounder).

And OMG! Isn't this Fluffles Ghostie the most adorable stamp!?! As soon as I saw this Fluffles, I had to have it!

(I'll answer questions now for PIFfers and Wish RAKers. LOL! Yes, it is on my PIF list. And yes, I am granting wishes. :)

I used Jen's sketch (SFYTT) and made my own candy corn "charm" for the CCEE challenge this week. This was a fun card to make! Thanks for the challenges!

Stamps: Fluffles Ghostie - Stampendous, sentiment - Impression Obsession, Polka Dots & Paisley - SU
Paper: green galore, yoyo yellow, white, CM DP
Ink: black, only orange

Same Layout... 2 Looks

It's not often I come up with my own layout, but yesterday I did. (Well, at least I think I did. LOL! I'm sure this has been used before, I just don't remember it.) I wasn't very impressed with my Ways to Use It challenge card below (I think it's the fern punches that aren't clicking with me on this card), but a few people on SCS seemed to like it. Anyway, I decided I needed to try it again today for the Limited Supply Challenge card.

Dreams Come True: The limited supply challenge had a lot of rules today. The jist of it was to have a mostly white card with another neutral and an accent color and only one stamped image and a sentiment was optional.

Stamps: In the Stars
Paper: white, pretty in pink, chocolate chip
Ink: chocolate chip
Accessories: marker, ribbon, SU star punches, Martha Stewart doily lace punch, CB swiss dots, dimensionals

Always: The Ways to Use It challenge was to use silhouettes. And my mail came just in time for me to make this card yesterday. The Upsy Daisy image came from a Wish RAK member - Momma Patti. Thanks Patti! (I don't ususally remember who sent everything, but I just opened the envelope! :)

Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Small Script
Paper: baja breeze, Baja breeze DSP, white, going gray
Ink: baja breeze

I love autumn and all of the colors, holidays, and decorations. I love Halloween stamps, but I don't usually send Halloween cards. But that's OK! They don't have to be Halloween cards. Here are some cards from the past and present that I've made for various occasions. So, if you're one of those people who don't buy Halloween stamps because you don't make Halloween cards, you might just change your mind. :)

I found something similar in a store bought greeting card. I'm starting to feel guilty that I made a joke about clowns with this cute little Juggles. I sure hope I haven't offended the artist of the image.

Paper: close to cocoa, chocolate chip, white, close to cocoa DSP, real red
Ink: black
Accessories: Copic markers, ribbon, brads, oval punches

A Busy Week!

Wow! It's been a week since I updated! Most of the week was spent with doctor appointments and continuing the unmounting project in my craft room. That led to major reorganizing because of more space. I think I might actually be organized enough to start scrapbooking again! :) And I have more unloved items to put on eBay this week. I also discovered two brand new blog challenges that I will add soon.

On the topic of challenges, I've been participating in the weekend Wish RAK challenges where we donate the cards for the troops. I'll be adding those soon. The only other stamping I did this week were 2 color challenge cards. I LOVE this combo: rose red, kraft & black.
